Number Three
Easter Celebrations
Happy Easter!
When it comes to celebrating Easter, I am a “collector.” I have so many Easter collections and I can’t seem to stop! I like to choose pieces that feel like they have a story, a heritage, are made by hand and have a little sparkle of personality. I’ve always been drawn to Herend figurines for any time of year but the bunnies, chicks and eggs especially have my heart. They’re elegant but never stuffy and I’ve been adding to my children’s collections for years!
The story of Herend begins in 1826 in a tiny Hungarian village (we love a charming origin story), but it truly blossoms under Mór Fischer, who had the foresight to elevate Herend into the world of fine porcelain. By the time the Great Exhibition of 1851 rolled around, Herend was ready for its moment and what a moment it was! Queen Victoria fell in love with the designs and placed an order, which is essentially the 19th-century version of going viral. The pattern she commissioned remains extremely popular and we now know it as “Queen Victoria” or “Victoria by Herend.” From there, Herend became a favorite among European royalty and tastemakers, and the rest is history.
As much as I love Herend’s patterns, what I find most irresistible are the figurines. They’re beautifully handcrafted, of course, but they also have this sense of whimsy and play. A perfectly poised bunny with one ear up, a delicate bird, a little chick with hatching, it’s as though each piece has its own personality. Because every single one is painted by hand, they feel personal, almost like tiny treasures.
I love incorporating Herend figurines into a home or a party in unexpected ways. They’re always wonderful on a bookshelf, tucked into a silver basket on a tablescape, or even as a conversation-starting detail on a bedside table but they are also great as a cake topper or nestled on to a serving tray with a little bit of museum putty. They bring a sense of history, but also a bit of charm and lightness which, in my opinion, is exactly what makes a home feel truly inviting.
The bunny above is tucked in a vintage silver basket and moss from my tabletop website, TRUNKcurated. It is sitting on a beautiful hand painted plate by Anna Weatherly, also from TRUNKcurated.
I’m filling Easter baskets this year with so many of the traditional goodies that I collect year after year. Like these personalized ceramic eggs and these old-fashioned sugar diorama eggs that delight!

I hope you have a wonderful Easter with your family and friends! Here are a few other notes and things that are on my mind and heart….
-As always, I’m working to keep my “current obsessions” shelves up to date for you on the ShopMy app.
-I’m so excited the re-design of my website! What do you think? What do you want to see more of? I would be super Grateful for your feedback!
-I’m planning summer travel to Paris, London and Florence. What are your favorites places to shop, dine and visit?
-I enjoyed hosting an elegant tea at the Ritz-Carlton Las Colinas last week for members and guests. I got to visit with so many delightful ladies and chat about entertaining. All of the guests left with a copy of A Loving Table. Big thank you to the Ritz Carlton for asking me to be a part of it. I had a few questions about the dress I wore so I’m linking it here.
XO,
Kimberly
